This large fleece is large and so soft.. The staple is long and the colour is a natural creamy grey which fades to light ginger in places.. This fleece is heavy and has strong white felt backing. Big Mama would look great anywhere, adding texture and warmth.This fleece was turned into Felted Sheepskin with love at our small farm in Devon.

At 15 years old Big Mama (BM for short) is one of our foundation ewes we started our flock with back in 2010.
Originally from Shetland, we picked her because of her large size which led to her name.
It’s been many years since BM birthed lambs but in all this time her fleece quality has not dropped. It’s nice to demonstrate old ewes, when given the chance, can still hold their own and live long productive lives.’
