Description
This fleece is so unusual, just like the sheep it came from! Im trying to find the words to describe the colour but it is so many different colours in one rug ranging from light grey, brown to black all arranged in a perfectly aesthetic way. The brown tones are warm with a hint of auburn and the staple is long, straight and incredibly soft to touch. The fleece has a shiny lustre and a good depth. Overall it is squarish in shape, the backing is strong dark grey felt and whilst its not the biggest rug we have made its surprisingly weighty. This fleece was turned into Felted Sheepskin with love at our small farm in Devon.

‘Serafina, who looks very similar to her mum, ‘Mrs Tumnus’, are the most magical looking sheep in our flock.
They both look like characters that have walked out from a storybook, as such we gave them fairytale names.
Serafina’s name is inspired by Phillip Pullman’s fictional witch.
But that’s not the only thing which is magical about Serafina, if you look closely at her photo you’ll notice she has differing coloured eyes. In the farming world this anomaly is called ‘wall eyed’, it’s incredibly rare in sheep.
We’d like to think a little of her magic is passed on in her fleece.’

This fleece came from ‘The Forever Flock‘ where nature and biodiversity are a top priority – these sheep are kept for their wool, so are saved from the food chain. If you would like to find out more about ‘The Forever Flock’ and their farming ethos head over to our blog!
