This Masham rug is made from from our own flock here at Downacarey Bridge. However, you may notice it has a green marker spot in the middle of its back which doesn’t wash out! Sheep marker is applied to identify who the sheep belongs to or to indicate how many lambs it might have. We try not to use sheep marker here as not to spoil the wool but in this case we think it tells story ……this ewe was in lamb with twins when we bought her!
Mashams have big personalities and a wild nature, and we love having them as part of our flock. If you’d like to see what they look like check out our Instagram page where they feature pretty heavily! They are one of the few breeds that produce wool with wonderful curly, white, soft, corkscrew tendrils. This rug would make a brilliant pet bed or if you’re not bothered by the marker it will generally just add lovely texture to a room.
As with all our Felted Sheepskins it has been made with care and Love at our small farm in Devon.
